School Site Council

Segerstrom’s School Site Council is a group of elected teachers, parents, classified employees, and students that works with the principal to develop, review, and evaluate school improvement programs based on data and needs assessment. Segerstrom's School Site Council oversees the implementation of various programs in the school, including state and federally funded programs. The council focuses on the academic achievement of students in six goal areas: School Culture, English Language Arts, English Language Learners, Math, Other Content Areas, and Parent/Community. School Site Councils are specifically charged with finding ways to close gaps in academic achievement between groups of students.
 
Meetings are held monthly from August through May. All Segerstrom parents, students, and staff are welcome to attend. Meetings from August through March are held in the Professional Development Center (PDC), which is the room behind the Higher Education Center. Meetings in April and May are held in the Wellness Center, which is next to the front office. 

Elections

Every year we seek teachers, staff, parents, and students to participate in Segerstrom's School Site Council. Elections for the 2025-2026 school year are over, but if you are interested in serving in future years, please contact Amber Lund, ELD Coordinator at amber.lund@sausd.us.
