SPED
Mild/ Moderate Program: Special Education Department
Our Special Education Department supports students through a full inclusion model, where individuals with disabilities learn alongside their peers in general education classrooms with the assistance they need to succeed. We work closely with teachers, specialists, and families to provide accommodations that promote academic growth, independence, and social-emotional development. We believe inclusion strengthens our entire school community and helps every student feel valued and able to thrive.
Moderate/Severe Program
Our Special Education Program is dedicated to supporting students with extensive support needs (ESN), significant cognitive disabilities, and complex learning needs. We provide individualized, multi-level instruction and prompting to ensure every student can learn, grow, and succeed at their own pace. Our program focuses on developing essential life skills through Functional Academics, Social Skills, Emotional and Behavioral Skills, Communication, Motor Skills, and Daily Living Skills. We believe in meaningful inclusion and proudly support students in general education settings through push-in services for classes such as Physical Education, Art, and Homeroom. Above all, we foster a supportive, respectful, and empowering environment where every student is valued for who they are. We are proud to be Jaguars! 🐆
Special Education Program / Adult Transition Program (ATP)
Our Special Education Program and Adult Transition Program (ATP) serve students with extensive support needs (ESN), significant cognitive disabilities, and complex learning and medical needs. The program is designed to support students as they transition from school to adult life by building independence, confidence, and real-world skills. Instruction focuses on Vocational Skills and Community-Based Instruction, while continuing to support and maintain essential Functional Academics and life skills. Through individualized, hands-on learning experiences, students develop workplace readiness, daily living skills, and community participation skills that prepare them for meaningful postsecondary opportunities. Our goal is to empower each student to reach their highest level of independence while providing the supports they need to succeed beyond the classroom.
